He looks cool.

This is just my opinion. But I think he would look more Hippo Like if you made his arms fatter. Almost like the size of his legs.

Otherwise the skinny arms makes him look malnurished.

Looking forward to see what hes going to look like.

I love the idea. Just readying Hip-Hop Hippo makes me laugh. I agree with Cyrenn's suggestion. But I also think you could exaggerate the weight of the character by making the body even more pear shaped. It might make it feel like the fat in his body is being pulled down. Make that butt stick out more (by adjusting the profile curve of the back) and have the belly hang a little lower.

it looks good i live in the netherlands and here they have a 3d Tv advertising about a dancing hippo it doesn't look like yours.
i wanna see it finished and with texture can't wait

cool little guy, I would make his belly more pronounced, it would add to the comic effect
