Shag Hair Please Help???

I'm using Shag Hair for my characters. The only problem is that I want to use Light tracer for the renders. To get that globallumination effect the problem is that the Shag Hair turns completely black. It looks good, but I want it to be able to stay the color I assigned it.

How do I figure this out.

How do I render SHag Hair using Light tracer effectivly.

You must set the shadow type to 'hair shadows' for your shaghair to cast shadows.

Thx Chokin

The problem that I'm having is when I use Light tracer. The sky light sysem. the hair stays black. And doesn't change to its normal color it was assigned.

Have you tried converting the hair to geometry?

I know for 3rd party renderers GI requires the hair to be geometry, otherwise the hair is rendered by the shag/hairfx renderer and is never actually created as geometry for the 3rd party renderer.

You'll need to select Geometry in the Environment>Atmosphere>Effect>Shag:Hair(or HairFx) rollout, and then select the shag/hairfx view object. In the shag/hairfx view object rollout select convert to editable mesh. Then try rendering, it will take longer since it has to create the hair geometry.
