testing server.

I am using apache (win32 version) and in the last couple of days I have this major problem with testing servers in DW with php (have not tried any others as I only use PHP).

I have mysql setup fine and phpmyadmin can connect to the server and view all my databases no worries.
But when I try to setup a testing server for php and mysql I get an error saying there is no testing server installed.. and there is.
I have not changed anything on my system and this just happened. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling DW from scratch (removing everythingout of the registry), but still there is no tick by the testing server.

Normaly I just enter http://localhost/site_dir/ and it use to work fine.. but now it does not for some reason. I do get the tick if I just enter /, but we all know that this is wrong and once again I get the same error.

Does anyone know a cure for this please. I have combed over Macromedia's site to no avail.. and I have also emailed them with no reply.

So if anyone can help, please do so with any suggestions you may have.
