They don't change color. It is just an optical illusion... There are 35 dots there (even though I like the number 69).

There are 35 white, and when your, eye's are tricked by the dark background and the soft 50% grey grid, their are 35 more!

35 + (X)=70

It does't matter the answer, Just amazes me the most simplest picture can have such a effect on people!
