anyone give me some pointers on how to do this?

Hey guys, I'm a noob in 3dmax. What I'm trying to do is to model this 2dpicture i created in 3dmax, but i have no idea how to do it, I have tried many times but it just dosent turn out right, can anyone give me a few detailed steps on how to do it?

the form im trying to model is :

make a simple box with 3 segments turn it into an editable polygon then go into vertice sub division mode, highlight the vertices you want to move then move them to where you want them.
if not read through the tutorials that come with 3d max and work through a few of them to get an idea of how to do basic modelling, then it should be plain sailing...ish.

ok ill give it a go. Yes i know basic max modeling i just dident know how to start, my brain just came to a deadstop. I'm modeling something els now but ill do it later.
