shadows in c4d

can any1 plz tell me how to make em? i am absoluttley clueless about it. i dont know much about lighting either. plz help!
i need like some1 to tell me where the options are and how to apply them basicly.

edit: i found where and how to activate shadows and some more light options. however, could some1 plz bother and tell me some good tips on lighting effects in c4d? plz...

Most people here use 3dsmax or maya so you may be able to find an answer much faster by going to a forum for your appliction.
