Question SWEET JEEBUS please help with HD problem

Ok so here's our problem, we are students in videogame design at the art institute of pittsburgh. our animation teacher is having us do mechs with HD. now we have the entire model (that was given to us, we didn't model it) set up, except the legs. we are having problems with the Pistons that control the rotation of the knee. (see picture) basically the 2 sets of pistons need to move opposite of one another, i.e. when one is pulling up, the other is pushing down. and for the life of us we can't figure out how to get it to work.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
thank you

and this is how the knee rotates. we need the pistons to follow as sliding joints to it's rotation

How greatly appreciated... a work visa for the US would be nice.

How are the pistons created - are they cylinders or are they mesh? Would you be allowed to recreate the pistons as cylinders?
If so this Max5 scene I created for someone else (on this forum) might help?
Try pulling it apart and working out what I've done.

Isn't your teacher on hand to help?

thanks a lot for the reply, actually we did get help from the teacher, the only reason i posted on here was because we were on break for thanksgiving while we were workin on this.
it ended up bein a ton of scale issues with the mesh and some problems with the dummies i had set up to control the pistons.

but thank you very much for your help!

No worries, glad you got it sorted! Fancy sheding some light on how you got it working? I can currently only get it to work with primative cylinder shapes but would love to get it to work with meshes too.
