you have to unwrap the model....then apply your texture map.....it photoshop you can scale the face to fit the facial area....it works much better if you have a front on texture map
right now your face is using the whole texture map...including the outlining areas......that`s why the actual face texture map...looks so small on your model..... I fear though if this is due tomorrow...you won`t be able to unwrap and texture in time.....unless you`ve had experience doing it.... if your under time constraints..you can probably just crop the texture image..and use it..won`t look as good though ciao Last edited by Lorenzo Maggi; 07-12-2004 at 07:25 AM.. |

when it's in the edit window just CTRL + Prt Screen then paste it into a new window in photoshop and take it from there.

For this PARTICULAR model and texture, you can probably get away without having to unwrap it if you need it done fast...
1 - apply uvw map, planar, and orient it so that the gizmo is over the front of the face 2 - scale the gizmo and move it around until the face is the size you want, where you want

thanx for the help guys, but i think i'll have to do a tutorial on UV mapping sometime soon, because it just wasnt working out right...i'm just gonna revamp the model a little to avoid having to texture much of the facial features...if you know of any tutorials on uv unwrapping hook me up...thanx

In the max tutorials goto the low-poly spaceship tutorial. First the tutorial tell s you how to model the sapceship but at the end there is a tutorial on using uv unwrap.
