Bahh Humbug.... it's a great concept with so much scope, but it's kinda hard for me to get motivation from here 'cos it never feels like christmas in the desert..
I guess a lot of Internet time before hand is in order to get in the mood. Like everyone else has said it should produce some Fantastic ideas and hopefully some great renders from all. I Just wonder who will do the partridge in the pear tree!!! Seasons greetings to all.

Polar Express on its way back...
Hi everyone, I guess I'll throw this one in. It is my first time taking the challenge. I modeled this using XSI 4.2 needing 44 minutes. It shows what happend on Santas way back to the north pole... this Polar Express was way to fast...
Well, I hope at least some of you like it... BTW I didn't care much for textures etc. since this is a modeling challenge, right? So, don't bother the textures... Everyone, have a nice christmas =) Last edited by Col.David; 10-12-2004 at 06:25 AM.. |

"for this challenge only there is no need to include a wire frame on your submitted image. Unless of course you want to but be prepared to show one just in case anybody asks "

LOL... I guess it just doesn't have the same feeling when you're being allowed to break the rules.

@lemon
sure textures are important... but we are talking about a modeling challenge and it is easy to impress using a detailled texture and stuff like V-Ray to make your model look good even though it may a be very easy model. To demonstrate this I've attached this picture. Modeling time was under 4 minutes. So, where is the point in the model? Please get me right, I really do value texturing but I mostly look at the models shown here... And yes, my avatar is Clive from 'pushing buttons' which I made this summer (whole production time was 3 months including motion capture, writing and rendering). Thank you. It's cool you like it. |
