Question HAIR in max ?!?!

Does someone know how to make a realistic hair in 3d max 6 i will be very good next year if you tell me

Without plugins you can use 2d surfaces with striated opacity maps. This can look pretty good if you are good at it.

For greater realism, you pretty much need Digimation's Shag: Hair plugin

Don't forget about Ornatrix, its a free hair plug-in that works much the same as Shag:Hair. Ornatrix has tutorials and a help forum on their site. Click here.

yes, it crashed when I tried to use it also :/

from the brief look, it does look interesting, though...despite being more complicated to set up, I like the idea of being able to comb the hair

yes, it is prone to crash, but less often if you have all the plugin files. I think somewhere on the site you get a render preview plugin, or something like that. Once I got both files it only crashed, like, a third as often.
