Rendering with the background image in 3dsmax
Hello everybody
I've created a bullet-time image, where the character bends into a limbo style pose and now i'd like to add a bullet-time trail effect (you know, that bullet followed by distorted air). I've set the image into the background ('environment image' in max)and tried to render it with the trail, but it did't work. The Problem wasn't any setting inside the raytrace-panel, or any kind of that. I think, it's not possible to render a raytrace object and combine it with the background image, so that the image becomes distorted by the raytrace objects. My question to you: Is there any (other) possibility to render the image with the distorted effect? Please tell me if you might know something Best wishes Martin |

![]() Hmm...Good question. There isn't something inside the raytrace panel? In the first set of settings, I think there should be something labled 'environment' and that states what the raytrace object should...trace in the absence of objects in the scene. In this case, try throwing your environment into that panel and turn it down a bit. See if that works. If not, your guess is as good as mine. Honestly, I'm surprised that Max isn't accounting for your environment image in the glass materials. It kind of scares me. Good luck,
