Strange Uncle Joe - Cartoonish Character

Alright, couple of hours ago began work on something I rarely wish or like to do, which is a cartoonish character. Its really a big WIP at the moment, and all thats really done is basic spline cage to build from, add detail and from that point on move to the rest of the body and such.

The skin material is also a quickie, and Ill show more technical shots tomorrow. Alot will be changed here, mouth and neck and nose and eyes and more, but hey its fun and Ill give it a try as my first 3d project that I work on alongside the comments I gather from this forum. Your feedback will be definetly helpful, since this place is full of so good talent, and critique is always welcome.

Alright, began adding definition to stuff, mostly eyes and such. Mouth is way off right now and need to do something with that asap...

At some point I think some feedback would be helpful, better sooner than later

Played with the mouth some, tweaked some other things like ears and neck, also added the basic torso (I really hate models with just neck and upwards).

Is it really that bad when not receiving a single line of feedback?

Anyways added some stuff like impreved neck and some other stuff. Also added wireframe shot to those wire fans. Its modelled with splines and added surface and relax modifiers with turbosmooth. I need to add cheekbones and do something with the mouth, though not sure. Its becomeing less and less a farmer style of character, and I have some other plans in mind, but its still to early to tell.

But please, opinions, critique, replies and feedback, anything is welcome. These are the things that motivate me to go on, so please do so and give some feedback.

Joe day 2 out

Is it really that bad not to receive a single line of feedback after 150 views? Im in the mids of examination session at the moment and dont have as much time to work on it, but I still need feedback and I cant really understand fully why nobody has said anything about it. In my own opinion this isnt the worst youve seen in Threedy, and even if it is, I think that some feedback wouldnt hurt...

Thank you...

I certainly wouldn't say its bad

I actually like the smoothed version in your first post without some of the detail, I think that looks great as a cartoon.

Yeah, if it were for some specific reason or project then perhaps, but since its my spare time model I want to put some time into it. And would be willing to listen to any recommendations and improvements, especially facial features. At least these qould give me something to do in the mean time, before moving onto hands and legs and such.

Don't get mad because of lack of respons. It happens. You have started a good character. My crit si the position of the mouth on the character's side-view. I took the liberty to adjust it the way I see it more corect but its up to you in the end. Hope it helps.

hey good head, my only suggestion is that the body doesnt fit the head, the body is waaaay to small, looks a little funny, might wanna make it a little more bulky other than that very good work
