This week's topic is to concept/paint an illustration of a "mother nature". It can be treated literally - so the personification of nature's forces, it can also be shown as a calm, serene, full of life forest/meadow shot. It's totally free for interpretation.
Have fun. ![]() Go!

Well, okay...if you insist
![]() Today is a day of firsts for me...first time I'm going to get round to posting one of my entries for the Speed Painting Challenges (albeit WIP), first time I've really sat down to some art in a while, first time I'm going to show it to people, first.... Anyway, I'll try to get some better quality pics for later posts... A3, graphite pencil, untainted by photoshop (ie totally traditional ) couple of hours from conception to this point.==>edit: blast. Good start, keep it going. I would try to bring it out in the Photoshop later on, cause on the image it's hard to see anything.

Thanks Michael. It is a bit pale at the moment....that's a combination of three things:
1: ancient digicam 2: less-than-desirable lighting 3: it's still very early on....just the general idea. Hopefully it will be clearer when more of the shading's been added. ![]() How much can you see at the moment (and on what type of monitor)? Anything? |

Not my luck today... I had my computer wiped because it was messing around awhile ago, and ive just found out i havent installed PS yet, nor can i find the CD for it!
Heh, heres a 'Paint' image of the sketch. Bear with me, this is just to show the style im aiming for. Its an earth elemental and im hoping to put him in a scene along side mother nature (He will be standing there, mother nature will be holding his arm... bah, ill show you guys later). Im going for a more comic look so it will be intresting to see how it goes... |

LoL, i like it Mosk. And Rob, thats a great piece but it seems that it needs to be a little more solid, maby some lines or something. At the moment it looks very faded and blured. Still a great piece!

Modelrater!

I think this comp is like the speed modelling challenge in that only pictures created for the purpose of the challenge are allowed, so by that token I guess this doesn't qualify since I did this in my Digital Imaging class last term. I did however want to post it and see if you guys like it...I'm considering joining this comp next week if I have some free time.
