IK Controlers wont keyframe?!

Hi all,

In MAX5, i'm trying to animate a character, and his feet and legs are rigged with IK, but when i try and keyframe the feet controls, they will not set a keyframe when i hit the key button with set key/ auto key turned on.

The only way a key can be set is if i move the actual controls, which i dont want to do on some occasions. Does anyone know why this is?! and how to go about fixing it?

Thanks

MAt...

Difficult to say. So you can only set keys by moving the IK goal? Stupid question, I assume the IK goals are correctly linked to the controls?
Try cloning the control & just doing a little test animation, (move it along an axis & try to set 2 keys.) If it doesn't work, hit the unlink button for the cloned control & try again. If it works that time then it's something to do with the rig's hierarchy, i.e., linking, wired parameters or contraints etc.
There may be a way to return control to the controls using list controllers which I can tell you about.
Also check that under the controls properties it is allowed to have keyframes set for it.
