3DS Max 7 - The EASIEST question here!

First off, I tried learning as much as I can from spending close to 40 minutes here but my eyes went spinning like a pinwheel! Too much information for a newbie like me! But a GREAT group of people here... all willing to help and learn...

OK, on to my question:

How can I make this model -

have this model's shield -?

If it's not too much to ask, could you do a mini-tutorial with screenshots also? Kinda like on this one -> http://www.stratcommandcenter.com/fo...showtopic=4406 It is SOOOOOOOOOO much easier to know what I have to click when there's a picture and an arrow directing me on what to do!

Also, I remember reading somewhere that I have to link the shield to the model's bone or something like that? How do I do that? What do I click? Where is it located (remember, TOTAL NEWBIE)? What to do and NOT to do when linking stuff? Anything I should be careful about? How can I check if my linking-to-the-bone thing worked? That sort of stuff.

Thanks and good times!
