drawing spiral 3d max

HI, i am making a plant that grows, but my path is only horizontaly, and i want it to go like a spiral (kinda like in all directions) but how can i do this?

Maybe animate it along a spline or a path? This might be one solution.

yeah thats what im trying to do, like going in depth and back horizontally and vertically and back, all in one path(like a plant growing in cirkels to the sky, but how you can do this i dont know?

If you're using 3dsmax 7 you can use the animate function in the new edit poly modifier(not editable poly).

I think you can get some good results with it.

also you could try drawing a helix spline & using pathdeform
