R390 GT tut - nissan 350z - splining

hey guys, im really just learning 3dsm and dont have the experience yet, but im taking a huge step in trying to model a 350z using the r390 tutorial for 3dsm..

im using 3dsm6, and these are my splines so far..

will these splines so far produce a good surface? when i apply the surface modifier with what i have and set up everyhting the way the tutorial says to, i dont get a very nice looking surface...

i know i need more splines, but will it fix my problem or are my current splines the error?

Hey there,

I can't really see the spline pic, so maybe you could post it without the background pic.

From what I can see, you don't have enough splines, and the problems with your surface may come from some areas having more than 4 points in their areas. If they have more than the four, there wont be a surface created there, or something like that. You need to create more splines, and as you go, connect and weld to make sure that you never have more than 4 sides connecting the one area. This will give you a cleaner surface, but will also take longer to tweak, as you will have more points to organise.

Hope that helps!
