Help Rigging character in max 6!!!

Just finished rigging my a character in max 6 and only half of the mesh moves along with the bones, i modelled the character in half and duplicated it and now the original half wont move with the corresponding bones. the rig seems ok and ive checked it twice. anybody know any tweeks i can do to make this go away. could really use anyones help

out of interest....did you attach the 2 halfs of the character together and weld the central line of verts to make a single mesh???

if not then that's probably the first thing to do....then go about skinning it to the corresponding bones.

if you've already done that....then I'm stumped
