speed modelling challenge week 32 - helmet
The "rules" are simple,
1, Each week we'll post a subject for you to model along with a time limit on how long you should spend on it. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what we have asked for. 2, spend no longer than the specified time on the modelling stages then render the image. 3, Post the image here along with your details, software used, time spent etc. Please post only one image per entry with a maximum file size of 100k and with the maximum dimensions of 800x600. This image should include at least one wire frame view of your finished model. Posts with multiple renders of the same object will be deleted. 4, time spent on rendering or texturing is not included in the alocated period to allow those with slower machines to participate on an even playing field. What we are looking for is the quality of the models you can produce "under pressure" 5, if your model is not complete, you can still post as long as it's recognizeable 6, no cheating, we are relying on your honesty here and the idea of speed modelling is to simulate a "real world" environment. If you are working on a project and asked to show a concept model you'll need to be able to get somewhere near the target in the allocated time. Your submission should be a model created especially for this challenge and not one you have stored on your hard drive. 7, No limit to the number of entries each person is allowed as long as each one is a completely new model and not one that utilises bits of previous entries 8, No external links to pictures, they must be attached using the browse button and be no larger than 800x600 pixels and 100k. Any pictures larger than this or links will be removed as soon as we see them and the poster will be disqualified immediately prizes of a 3D Total texture CDs to the best entrants. We'll judge it to avoid the voting process getting too complicated and winners will be notified by an announcement in the thread once judging is complete. so, here we go, with this week's challenge deadline - 22.00 GMT Wednesday 3rd February 2005 modelling time - 60 minutes subject - helmet We've had a few requests to make these challenges a little easier to accomodate newer users. Whilst we feel that this would be a mistake (after all the challenge is to improve your skills) this weeks subject can be approached from so many directions and at so many levels we think everyone has a chance. It doesn't have to be any particular type, it can be a football, cycle, motorcycle, skiers helmet etc good luck and have fun Andy |

Muahaha.... this is going to be fun!
![]() I'm intentionally going to stay away from the forum for a few days... I have some ideas I'd like to model first before seeing what ideas come from everyone else this week. Happy Modelling.... and have fun guys and gals!!! 3DMadness

I recall people having a hard time with the hlmet for the Lego contest...
But doing a helm in an hour and a helm with many other little peaces in an hour is nothing to compair. I have a mind on doing something.. Lets see if I can get whqt I have in hand over with firsT. Good luck every one! (Lets see the first set of "I posted first"'s... Oddly enough they are usually very impressive for being done in such short notice) Oops too late already.. we have an entry! ![]() Good one Barakefi10!

Thats strange Andy posted the challenge then 31 minutes later there is a post that took 40 minutes to model, 25 minutes to texture and a minute to render.
maybe my maths is no good..

Andoy.. you made me feel really stupid.. or ignorant..
![]() Hadn't noticed! Might be meaning 40 in total.. cause the model is not really a demanding work
