Question 3ds max: Zooming and using Wacom tablet

Hello!

Sometimes when modeling and zooming in with the zoom tool, the view "jumps" very quickly in, so it's hard to achieve the right zooming level. Can user finetune anywhere the steps of the zoom tool in max 6?

I know that one solution, when using a mouse, is to use CTRL+ALT+Middle button. This way zooming is more precise but often too slow. Zooming by scrolling with middle button is very fast and is handy in some situations....

However I'm trying to use my Wacom Intuos 2 A5 with pen because it's more ergomic for hand. I'm one of those whose shoulder is killing me after a using a mouse for some time!!!

Also if somebody has good tips for using a Wacom tablet with 3ds max they are wellcome. Now I use one letter for each navigation tool:
Z = panning
X = rotation
C = zooming

Downside is that I have to exit panning etc. with right click every time (lower pen button = right click).

When using a mouse middle button with CTRL and ALT-keys for different navigation tasks you don't have to exit the navigation modes with right click. That is, navigation ends when you release mouse and keyboard key(s).

Little things but when modelling you don't want to press extra clicks here and there. I have tried to use upper pen button as a middle mouse button, but i think upper button is not very usefull. It should't be so far away from the lower button.

Thoughts anybody?

Thanks in advance....
