speed modelling challenge week 35 - wheelbarrow

The "rules" are simple,

1, Each week we'll post a subject for you to model along with a time limit on how long you should spend on it. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what we have asked for.

2, spend no longer than the specified time on the modelling stages then render the image.

3, Post the image here along with your details, software used, time spent etc. Please post only one image per entry with a maximum file size of 100k and with the maximum dimensions of 800x600. This image should include at least one wire frame view of your finished model. Posts with multiple renders of the same object will be deleted.

4, time spent on rendering or texturing is not included in the alocated period to allow those with slower machines to participate on an even playing field. What we are looking for is the quality of the models you can produce "under pressure"

5, if your model is not complete, you can still post as long as it's recognizeable

6, no cheating, we are relying on your honesty here and the idea of speed modelling is to simulate a "real world" environment. If you are working on a project and asked to show a concept model you'll need to be able to get somewhere near the target in the allocated time. Your submission should be a model created especially for this challenge and not one you have stored on your hard drive.

7, No limit to the number of entries each person is allowed as long as each one is a completely new model and not one that utilises bits of previous entries

8, No external links to pictures, they must be attached using the browse button and be no larger than 800x600 pixels and 100k. Any pictures larger than this or links will be removed as soon as we see them and the poster will be disqualified immediately

prizes of a 3D Total texture CDs to the best entrants. We'll judge it to avoid the voting process getting too complicated and winners will be notified by an announcement in the thread once judging is complete.

so, here we go, with this week's challenge

deadline - 22.00 GMT Wednesday 23rd February 2005

modelling time - 60 minutes

subject - wheelbarrow

OK. time to get creating. It can be a traditional wheelbarrow or your own concept all we ask for is functionality

good luck and have fun

Andy

aaagh you can't be serious here. i've just spent the last 5 days wheelbarrowing concrete ALL DAY WITHOUT A BREAK..
The ready mix truck could not fit into the warehouse so it all had to be done manually.....
I will suprise myself if i get around to competing this week.

wheelbarrows come in all shapes and sizes, wooden, plastic, metal etc etc there's loads of scope plus you can always design your own.

time - now what's that?

I'm going to have to get creative with this - not one of the most exciting subjects to model.

No offence to Andy, of course.

No offence taken,

those who have been around for a while will have noticed that we try to make sure the challenges remain challenging, looking at different aspects of your modelling and hopefully getting you to work with different tools.

this one will also challenge your creativity if you want to make your model really stand out.

Well, Here is my first ever entry into the speed modelling challenge.

I had promised myself to enter this week and here it is, instead of doing a regular wheelbarrow, like probably alot of others are going to do, I did this wheelbarrow decoration, or is it ornament ? sorry, english is not my first language. Hope this gets the others going.

Modeling time 21 minute
