Making a chain

Does anyone know a tutorial that shows how to make a chain droop correctly. I have a chain going from one side of a hall to the other and I just can't get it to look right.

You could mate a spline, turn it into a Reactor rope, then make the spline an IK chain that deforms you chain. Check max help for steps to make a reactor rope and steps to make a spline act as bones.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask.
