SPEEDPAINTING CHALLENGE nr. 17!
This weeks challenge is about ... creativity and work in Photoshop or any other software, that allows to work with layers.
We are to desing tatoos, that will be applied on the back of the model in Speedmodelling challenges - tyeh will prepare a generic model, and the tatoo will most likely be applied as alfa map. So yeah - finally a collaboration! The tattos can be coloured, can be single-coloured. Think of what you would like to be tattoed ( ? ) on your/your girlfriend's/boyfriend's back Have fun with it. GO! EDIT - I'm attaching the texture skin just to help, in picturing it, the 3D software will do all the work when applying to the model as alfa map - all the details necessary will be there. You just need to make a strong contour definition, so it's easy to make an alfa channel with it.

My take...
if need to be on the skin layer it needs to be tainted green a bit, done actually with 3dsmax splines :

Wow silk.. you are really in the area!
It's like you have only registered for it! Thus even your name spells out the artwork you have produced. Good works. Aren't you intrested in introducing more colour into your works aswel? Edit;Just noticed them now... working on splines is fine up to a point since it is vector graphics again... but if those are rendered spheres in the eyes.. I think you might want to keep in mind that this IS a painting challenge.

hi, thanks for your kind words.
i did regisetred only to sent those pics, i had a another account but its not activiated. for this kind of tribal artwork i dont think color will fit, the focus is on shapes and how small shapes help deform a bigger, general one. also as i said this was done in 3dsmax own spline tools, even though not really vectoral i think its far easy to make them with max's array, mirror tools. lol i would have wrote a tutorial about making one if it was not that simple, just shapes and 15 minuts sparetime ![]() thanks again for your reply, take care. actually the red spots were done in photoshop ![]() |

I think a collaboration between the speedies is a fantastic idea, I've entered the modelling one a few times and have been toying with the idea of speed painting, but i'm not really up to it.. so this might be just the push i needed to get involved.
I congratulate you on the new ways you keep finding to keep us all interested and happy. Thanks.

My first Post, I guess that makes me a Virgin!
Hello all. Well this is my first submission to 3dTotalTexture’s web site. Actually it’s my first post to any 3D or Graphic web sites. I have been working for quite some time but have always feared the critiques. But it’s about time I get into the game! I am posting some old work. Please let me know what you all think. And I have thick skin now I can take it.
Please hold no punches. Sincerely CC909 Aka. Brian B. CC909@alamedanet.net By the way nice work Silk! Oh, was there a limit to the amount of work that can be submitted? |
