sub-D problem
hello community.
i'm a absolut beginner...so...sorry for that question... ok my first post...and not the last ![]() anyway...i have problems with my poly-model. problem #1 how to connect the vertex to the other polygons, so that I have a smooth surface with meshshmooth. do i have to splice or cut the whole model??? N-Gons are not the best solution I think. problem #2 the model is a simple sphere. when I add some details like in the pic, I see this edges. i just want to refine the model, to add some detail. you know what I mean? I you have threads about that in this forum, please give me the link. I didn't found the right thread for me. or perhaps you can help me. thx! ps: sorry about my english. best wishes. kingmauri |

Welcome to the forums..
But MAKE a habbit of reading the stickies on forums before you open a thread. Had you read ours, you would understand that you were suppose to state the software. I too didn't exactly understand your problem. If you are talking about the topology.. no not necessarily do you need to use n-gons. I did a small sketch of a sample. The second question I REALLY am not sure of.. but if you are talking about getting them leveled in a fast way. You may want to snap them to the grid/axis. Hope that helped.
