Hi There,

You apply the textures the same as you apply any textures in max by loading them into the material library.

I think it sounds to me like you need some beginner max tutorials to get you started, we have provided many free ones here and some include use of material library

I have been looking through the tutorials and having actually come across how to add new materials to the library either, perhaps you could point out one that does, or simply tell us?

Firstly open a new folder somewhere and save all the textures to it.
open up max then hit "M", to open the material editor.
hit the blue circle tab to get material and the material browser will open, select material library, the top right button ( a white sheet with blue circle in it) will clear the material lbrary so you can start a new one.
Go back to the material editor and under the "maps" parameters select diffuse colour, hit the empty grey tab at the right side of it and you can then browse to the folder where you put your bitmaps, select a bitmap of your choice.
then hit the go to parent button and do the same for the bump slot under maps only this time select the corresponding Bump map that matches the bitmap you put in the diffuse slot.
go to parent again, you should now be able to save this material to a library by using the put to library button.
Do this for all the textures and you will then have a nice library for the cd, but don't forget to save the library as a matlib file in max.

Yes they work in all 3D software and yes they are basically just pictures, a colour, bump and spec picture that combine together to make a seamless texture.

When I purchased a few 3dtotal cd's a while back, being in canada it took about a week. Doubt it would take much more than that for you as well, unless you live in an igloo somewhere
