make paintable poly object in MAYA
hi, Im work on a project and want use PAINT FX for poly object, wen I select the object and press MAKE PAINTABLE, maya say this error:
"Warning: poly Object _dSolid28Shape does not have UVs and cannot be made Paintable this is a mesh made by architectural desktop, exported to 3Dmax and exported to an 3Ds file, also be exported a OBJ by DeepExploration.... and finaly imported to maya for a shade and render. please help ... how paint this poly surface!! PD: sorry for my English.... |

Hello FLUGUS,
Is the oject your trying to paint unwrapped, because if not that is why your unable to paint on the surface. The object need to have mapped uv coordinates for it to work, and that's why your getting that error message. I hope this helps, and if so good luck on your project.
