Oh, no! I think I was late with this one. Thought no one would model this. You got it, andoy.

Anyway, I'm just putting it anyway. Give me half an hour, and I'll post my OUIJA board...

I really would like to dedicate this to all my friends ( they play the game and I dont... what a coincidence.) but yeah... this is for you guys.

Took me the full 2 hours, my final goal- making a chips bag...
Failed. :-(

Modelling: 2 hours
Rendering: Under a minute.
Lighting: 20 minutes
Texturing: 40 minutes

Oh well, haha. Still had fun with texturing/modelling/lighting/photoshopping for that lovely picture I like to call one of my best yet.

...sadly. haha

Thumbs up

Absolutely stunning stuff going on here!

Andoy, mimi01, Rooky, Destroythenseek, Barks, noyb, adamos, escaped_monkey, Agamemnwn and the list goes on.....great work, wonderful work....wow. So many more too. (I know I missed some)

And welcome to all the newcomers to the speed challenges. You guys are doing great!

I wish I could submit something, but I've been busy with work and (taxes). Damn, had to pay in again this year...well, there goes my pc upgrades for a while. Hopefully, I'll be able to sit down for an hour or two (that sounds strange for a speed modeling contest lol) and get something out this weekend.

Everyone looks like there having a good time here....Keep it up, guys and girls!

How did you do that blur- that looks really nice!!
Cheers, the blur is actually an effect called 'specular bloom'. It can be found under Rendering -> Effects. It might not be there by default, I had to move some files about in my 3dsmax folder to get it to appear (if I remember correctly, move all the RenderEffect-xxxx.ms files from 3dsmax\scripts\pluginscripts to 3dsmax\plugins). Hope that helps!

Hi all,

Nice models! here is my first contribution, I was inspired by Fastrak (great model Fastrak) to do something simple but eye catching (well I hope I have achieved that!).

This is "Apple Checkers", which is just checkers using apple pieces instead of the usual ones.

Software: Max7
Model Time: 1h 30m
Texture/lighting: 2h
Render: Metalray 5 minutes

Enjoy

well you could try to eat the apples but as they are plastic apples they may not taste too good

If your interested the game in action on the board is genuine, I played a game to make sure the pieces were in a real configuration, the greens are wining but just made a tactical error, I wonder if you can spot the big move the reds are about to unlesh!!!

snwbrder9;
Since it is not really an entry, I hope you won't mind my making use of being allowed to set a pointer...
Your elements happen to have to many jagged edge situations. It takes from your models quality. And one more important thing to watch out for in presenting your next entry is: If it looksodd when you smooth it, it is better you restart and rearrange the topology to a way it would work out.

Your model is a good one. But these are two basic things that most froget, especially from the haste of modeling.

Adamos; Thank you for your understanding. Good luck with the rest of your models to come!

DestroyThenSeek; I am going to have to ask you for my notes if everything displayed in that image are modeled within the given time limit.
