Thnx Lestat
![]() Here I paste some info from the site where i found this game: "The aim of Three Men's Morris is to make a line of three marbles before your opponent. Play starts like Noughts and Crosses, but once all your marbles have been placed there is a second stage of the game and marbles can be moved." Hope that explains it somewhat, I myself still don't really know the exact way of playing it I just saw it and thought it would be easy enough for me to model. |

Thanks for the comments, guys. Words from you are always appreciated. Please let me know if you see where I can improve...anytime. Marty I didn't want to do a chess set because of the knight, and looking at yours, you did an excellant job. Way to go! McFly My gosh, a family of McFlys! lol your entry made me laugh...I never seen or heard of it...that's great. Lestat Always loved your entries and this is no exception. Excellant. The game does sound fun. Your composition, materials, and lighting are always a delight. tupu Very nice entry indeed! Love the caustics on the marbles...awesome. Good job. (man, I love this forum...isn't it fun or what!) ![]()

Thank you for the time you spent on the long explanation Lestat... I hadn't heard of it before. Looks really intresting.
So the radical games are starting to slowly show up I guess ![]()

h-yousfi: Thanks... I liked your "football" set. Hehe... football.... hehehe. (Sorry... we Americans call it soccer and I just laugh that we're the only ones to call it that!)
Rooky: Thanks... it's not the lighting that's the problem since there's only 1 specular omni light and 1 skylight in the scene. The problem is the amount of geometry... the Rook alone with 2 iterations when meshsmoothed has 19,968 faces! Now imagine that there's 4 in the scene and you have 79,872 faces for just the Rooks!!! The materials might be a small factor aswell since they have a touch of reflectiveness to them. (If I could just find a way to get my two systems to render the same image... I think that would be so awesome!) ![]() McFly: Wow... I haven't seen you for a very long time. You might not remember but we were in the same Speed Modelling Contest a long time ago. It might have been the Loud Speaker contest... I'm not sure. But I did mention that you were the reason I couldn't register the name McFly. I'm glad that you feel I'm doing the family name proud... I've been trying. Your game is pretty cool... sick... but cool. ![]() Fastrak: Thanks aswell. People seem to like my Knight wich obviously makes me very happy. He was the only element that I used Silo for. It was so easy I probably made him just as fast as all the other pieces. By the way, all the other guys are just lathed splines with the exception of the Queen's crown, the King's cross, and the Rook who started out as a lathed spline but then turned into an editable poly so that I could extrude the bricks up top. Adamos: Nice checker board set. My first model is a checker board... but there's just something not right about it so I moved on to my chess set instead. I'm going to go back to it though... Heh... my girlfriend wanted me to render out my chess set as a glass set. She's insane! I'd still be rendering now! She'll just have to deal with wood. ![]()

Thx for notice mi entry Marty_McFly
BTW. You know Marty, you could use some Translucend Shader for simulate glas. Just as i did on mi board. Its render much more quick then normal glas and look good. I thik so, at last.

Fastrack > he he On the box I have The Laughing Pig is translated into many european languages so I thought it was a famous one. Anyway, thanks for your comment!
Marty_McFly > yeah I do remember that Speaker contest. I also did the Tap challenge. I saw a few of your entries, good job. And again to everyone else: good job, I would like to list my favourite ones but damn dial up connection! Don't have the patience to wait for 15 pages to load! lol Keep modelling people! Good source of inspiration! ![]()

Here's mine, Senet a game played in Egypt.
I originally wanted to do Tut's board but it looked like a Hippo on Skis so I did my own. Probably the hardest thing was the ankh drawer pull. Rhino smoothing sucks so everything had to match up on width and thickness. The turquoise bands across the side are actually english using heiroglyphs. They spell Phonetically three d total monthly modelling challenge This was lots of fun. To see how Senet was played you can look here: http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian...193/Senet.html |

Good job. The heiroglyphs were an especially nice touch. Nice on the drawer pull too.

Entry #5
King's Table or The Viking Game
Spent most of the time working on the getting the right wood carving details. I used a text decorative font for the sides of the box and the outer rim of the playing board. The pieces are lathed objects, and the box is rectangle using bevel profile. I'm happy with the way this one turned out. ![]() info is on the pick.
