control over sructure
with 3dsmax 7..
How to get a taper along a spline? stack: taper edit poly spline Now the taper will effect the structure according to selected axises, but not along it. so so?

If i understood correctly, you can do it using pathDeform. Make the object you want tapered and then a spline you want it to follow. Then the object selected pick pathDeform to the modifier stack and click "pick path" and select the spline. Now the tapered object follows the spline or as you put it's tapered along a spline.
+ you can edit the object in it's own stack and the spline it in it's own. The object will follow all the changes you make to the spline.Last edited by kenkuru; 15-04-2005 at 09:33 PM.. |

you can do the same with a lofted object. create a loft from a shape and a path and then add a "scale" deformation to taper.
