Talking Can anybody teach me how to map?

Hello everybody!
I'm a beginner
I just downloaded the 3ds max 7 trail last weekend
and I discovered this amazing website!!
but there are no tutorials that teaches how to map from a model
(maybe there is...but can anybody suggest one for me??)
I made this model on Sunday
I wanted to get to draw the wings....and stuff...all the detail
here's the model-

Well there are many ways to map a plane in 3ds max. I would suggest going through a materials and lighting tutorials in the 3ds max program. Also I would suggest putting a uv unrap modifier on all of your objects and painting them sperately in adobe photoshop if u have it. Usually u get the best results by hand painting all of your details on your model. 3ds max has built in textures and u can map pictures u take with a camera to the plane but they never look as good as when u go in and hand paint the textures yourself. They have alot of tutorials out there for mapping just google search it up

i study 3ds max from 8 monthes
but i can't doing sime you'r modeling

I started the body from a cylinder...
and I made the wings seperatly(I squeeze a box :smug: ..)
this acctually is my first independent model...
(except some of the tutorials)

again, Thanks for the tutorials in the web site!!
I'm working on the Joan of Arc project...
It is really a cool project!
