Modelling a car

I'm basically doing the outside low poly then smoothing. Seems to be working alright. But how do I do interior? Do I do it as part of the model? Or seperate? And the same goes for headlight lenses. Same or seperate?

depending on how you modeled the body, using the polys that made up the windshield area, should just be cut, selected, and detached. pretty much the easiest way to go at it.

if you already deleted those faces, then you could rebuild it by using the create under the polygon sub-object selection. or, simply just remodel the windshield with a plane.
