6 month "prunage"

Haven't been here in a while and I just saw the note stating:

THREADS OLDER THAN 6 MONTHS WILL BE PRUNED

I know it probably costs money and seems like a waste to keep around geezerly threads, but the gold of a forum exists in its bowels imo. There's all sorts great information can be found through the search function, not to mention some of my best works are coming up on the 6 mo. mark and I won't be able to link to them anymore if you guys delete them. Anyways I don't have a huge problem with this (and it probably wouldn't matter much if I did :P), but I just thought there's some benefit to keeping old threads around. Wanted to see if you could perhaps extend the limit or something, to maybe 10 months.
