UVW Mapping Tutorials Max 7

Im pretty sure most of everybody here is highly skilled in uv mapping and unwrapping. Can you guys point me in the direction of absoloutly any tutorials you can think of? That would be grand

Im in the process of learning this my self. Heres what I can tell you....

You can weld in the UVW unwrap editor. Right-click then select target weld or weld selected.(you have to position stuff first though)
The problem is I have no Idea how to figure out which way is up on the polygons. I had it nice and neat like your last pic there.When I textured the polygons,it came in upside down.

So is there way to tell which way is up for a face in the editor?

This wouldn't be a problem with a detailed object because you could plainly see which way is up...

I'm currently writing a tutorial on texture mapping.Check it out on 3dtotal when it comes out!
