Hi there, if you still remember now is six months after devastating 26 Dec. earthquake and tsunami that killed 178,000 people in 11 countries and left another 50,000 missing and presumed dead. Right now let's see how things going on...please update us!
In Thailand, we are so impressed on helping from around the world. I' m very thanks for 3DTotal who tried to help us as well . Right now we have so many volunteers to come to rebuid destroyed places/buildings in Thailand. Here is an nice example. The Buchan family shown in a pic below, of Mt Maunganui, recently returned from two weeks' volunteering on the Phi Phi island, which featured in the movie The Beach before its palm trees and white sand beaches were laid waste by the deadly waves on December 26. They worked with a local charity, Hi Phi Phi (Help International Phi Phi), started by residents and tourists. Their main task was setting up a medical centre in the remains of a hotel. Next month, Kim is back for two months for more plumbing work, and the whole family plan to return for three months next year Here is such a impresed example, I think going to doing the volunterring things is "the best social studies lesson we 've ever had". How about you? what do you think? Don't you think having a holiday as a volunteer is sound good?. please use this post to update all...I really would love to know how things in ruined countries going on right now. Kob khun is Thai word means 'Thank you'...Warin Last edited by Warin-3DT; 28-06-2005 at 09:16 AM.. |
