Reputation points?
hello, I'm a bit slow so I just caught up on this reputation thing, seems I got two negative comments for stuff I really do not understand, but being the way I am, I probably deserve it
anyway, my question is - how does it work? I've noticed all the 3DT people got max rep points, but Warin-3DT is "doing OK", what's with that? and can anyone just file a "complaint" against you? seen a lot of people help others and they still only have one green block, some explanation would be nice and I apologize if this has been discussed before |

I have 2 reputation points. Guess that's what you get for giving people technical advice.
Where did you check the comments, though?

Hi I'm sorry if you've already provided a lot of help but no one give u reputation point. Maybe u could pm the thread to the moderator and ask for reputation point.
But I deeply believe that, when u are helping the other members, what u have "gained" is not reputation point, but something more valuable is during the helping process, we are actually learning. Other members could "take away" ur reputation point, but they can't take away ur 3d knowledge. And when u are sharing the 3d knowledge, actually u are revising, learning more deep and detail information. I think this is the reason that I get the highest reputation point at the forum. If u take away my points, I'm nobody. |

I think you need something like 100 points for your green bar to change.
And since a member can only give 1 point...... I`ve recieved points on my artwork alone which I dont think is right. My art is no better than anyone elses. It should be on your activity as a helpful member alone.... |

1 point? I've always got 2 points from people. Anyway I noticed that when you hold your mouse over rep icon it has a differnt saying.
Like mine is 'is doing OK' and Lorenzo's is 'is obviously worth listening to'. ...and whats the grey rep for? I've gotten one before, but I dont know if it gave me more, less or any rep points. |

I think you are right it may indeed be 2 points.
I also have a greyed out reputation. I believe that is someone who gave a point be then removed it?...I dunno. I have an odd number[as in not even] of rep points. I would think the number should always be an even number? |

hmmm I dont know, mine is 20. That's why I figured it went by 2. It might change at a certain point. Like when you reach a certain amount it stops giving 2 and starts give 1.

Negative. And I'm still "An unknown entity at this point".

the way it works is like this:
Someone with a lot of rep points (like my self and other mods) gives / or / takes more rep points then a member with a small amount. I dont know what the exact #'s are.. hope this helps

to everyone who's giving me rep points, I DID NOT START THIS THREAD FOR YOU ALL TO FEEL SORRY FOR ME
I must say though, I'm laughing my ass off when hovering over that green thing saying "claWda is obviously worth listening to", makes me all warm inside ![]() |
