Hi,
Ah yes, our infamous max libraries! We did include these on the first 3 cd's. However, this led to some confusion amongst customers who thought that the CD Collections themselves were for 3dsmax only. This is of course not the case as the CD's can be used with any software as the textures are all supplied in jpeg format with some also as tiff files with alpha channels. We then asked for feedback as to wether anyone wanted us to create these libraries for them and the response was pretty much non-existent so we did not proceed. Sorry about this. I am sure however that there are guys out there who have created the libraries for themselves and would be willing to share them. Try also searching the forums to see if anyone has been kind enough to post these anyway. I am sorry I cannot assist you any further.

I ordered two texture CD's more than 5 days ago and I haven't recieved anything yet, are the texture CD's on it's way?

Hi I'm looking to buy a total texture DVD set, I just wanted to no do they have TuTs. If so are the TuTs about the best way to use them inside a 3d app or are there tuts on how to go about creating new texture sets???

Hello Pixelgen, The Tuts are how to use them in the best ways using your software as you thought, they are not tuts on how to create more textures, but they do cover combining the textures and using the layers of textures etc...so in a way they are about creating new ones too but I wouldnt sell them this way..lets stick to the former!

Can I use total texture sets on any project, I'm creating a Ureal2004/07 DM-level and would like to use your latest set for my map. ???

Hi Pixelgen, you can use the textures in commercial use for however you wish but you can't resell the textures at all even if you edit them first. This can cause a problem if they are used in games, really only applying to pc games here, if our textures are sat in a folder where your customer could get to them. As far as I know all consoles games are fine as the textures are embedded in, so if you can also achieve this with a pc game making the textures very hard for another user to extract then this would be fine too.

Hello all,

I just received 2 volumes of your texture CDs (in Canada, ridiculously fast!).

The tutorial on the disk is helpful, but some parts differ greatly between Max and C4D.

Is there some reference to how to make the best use of your textures and all the supplied channels in other 3D apps?

and then click on 'project overviews' at least 2 thirds of the articles here use the texture CDs, so there are many many pages to help with suggestions and inspiration for using the textures in the best way, they are made with a variety of software packages too, it's just up to you to do a bit of browseing to find the most suitable pages for you.

Thanks Tom. Believe me, I'm not adverse to doing my own research/browsing. I just figured if there was a simplified "This in Max = this is C4D" someone could point me to it to expedite the process.

FWIW, I think that would be a tremendously helpful tool for your products.

we have ordered 2 texture cd packages 27th of july. The package has not arrived yet (germany) nor does 'cdsupport@3dtotal.com' and 'tomg@3dtotal.com' reply to E-Mails. I dropped an email to those addresses Friday noon to ask if the order has been shipped/processed. What's up?
