Beau the Werewolf

Well, I'm trying to get back into 3d modeling. I think this time around I've been more successful. Ben Mathis' has GREAT video tutorials. My only problems are feet, hands and partially the head.

Anyway, I decided to start with the head first this time and it looks good to me so far. I'm using 3ds max 7 and I'd like some feedback because I'm still a major newbie. I'm not putting this guy in a game but I do want to make him lowpoly and such.

I'm trying to give him a visor but I don't know how to go about that with this, anyway... here it is so far =)

Looking good so far. Werewolves ROCK! I was checking out your other earlier threads and was looking at your 2D stuff, you are quite good at that part of it so your texturing will definately help make the model look that much better. I'm pretty new to this stuff too and trust me a good texturing job can help out a simple model alot. I say just keep at it and this could turn out great.

Yeah, I have trouble with lowpoly heads. Unfortunatly, the only tutorial I can really understand is Ben Mathis' video's =S I tried Joan of Arc many times but got stumped. I could give it a shot again, but it'll be hard to work it into a lowpoly head.

Update: I worked on the body a bit. I'll post a wire some other time. I'm thinking of redoing the head as well.

The legs kinda look funny from the front and I need to work on the torso/shirt.

looks pretty good.
a suggestion, change the colour of the background in the render... i think its under environment. black make it hard to see the whole model.
also would like to see some wires of the body.
keep it up!

My avatar? Oh no, thats not me. Alizée is a french singer that I happen to like(I'm gonna give this guy an Alizée shirt too, haha).

Anyway, thanks for the comments on the model, I'll try redoing the head and see how it goes today.
I'll try the Joan of Arc method and if that fails I'll look for more tutorials.
Feel free to add some c&c

On a side note... I am from canada as well, and I like canada

The model itself is pretty good, you have some mesh flow problems such as the waist and the crouch, so try and look at other models, and see if you could make the mesh cleaner.

keep it up

ok the mesh is a little messy... you need to adjust the flow of the mesh to define the shape better. you have done this well with the body, but the head is all over the place. luckily this is fixable.
i've made some general suggestions to the work flow, but i think you would benefit more from figurung the rest out yourself.

Haven't been able to post for a while...

Anyway, I tried adjusting the head and fixing it up but I'm still having problems and it looks like I'd be better off remodeling it. Does anyone know or have a tutorial for the muzzle?
