MIM - ta fir yer comments, much appreciated!
Love the style of yours, i think it'd make a great poster...dunno what for exactly but its very visually striking!

Alcron - i kinda agree with you (although my images dont really show it), i think of trolls as being not far off slow minded brutes...think 'the 3 billy goats tale'....but then again they dont really exist so let the imaginations go awol!

Track - maniac...love it man, looks really good in colour!like the amunt of character!

Chainface - I really like your style, it's very concept art like. I especially like the one with the split bottom jaw, that's so cool, yet very gross lol.

BuffDady81 - I like your first troll the best, the big green guy. Maybe it's because the style of the picture is more cartoony like mine, however I still like the one in fire too, keep up the good work.

Michael - I know it's not votable, but I must say, it's incredible work. Your detailing on the texture is awesome, and I really like that you took an existing creature (gorilla I assume) and modified it into a troll.

Undertow - I like the style of your art. I've seen the poster you are talking about, however the picture reminds me more of the box art for the game Deus Ex (I don't know if you played it). Good work.

RBL - Another cartoony one! I like your troll, as I like all of your work that I have seen on these forums. All I can say is keep it up. (oh and the little purple guy is hilarious).

Anfeo - You've definately captured the big and strong feel, and you topped it off with a very small brain, making your entry a very traditional troll. The club is a good addition to the picture as well.

mim - You definately have your own style going with this one. I like the contrast of colours you used, and how the vibrance really makes the image "in your face". Good job.

Alcron - Well, you definately thought BIG! It's good to see someone trying new things with an old idea. You took the classic troll, mixed it up, and then ran with it. Keep up the cool new ideas like this.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my work, and good work from everyone.

I wasn't trying to be too mean about it. I'm all about wild creativity. I was just mixing it up and taking it "too" far. ha ha. I like that the atmosphere in here is never very negative. Good luck on any entries left to be posted.

Anyways, we have until Wednesday, right? All this talk about wanting to vote already is making me nervous about getting my real entry in on time. Not that I think I'll get many votes.. but ya know.

Mister Universe

Okay...so maybe I went a little too far. LoL! Obviously, I got the idea from Alcron...and I took it a little bit further. Thanks for the inspiration! This is definitly a non-entry, but here ya go. It took me a little over an hour.

P.S. Do I win the "size" contest?

it took me 20 minutes to paint this, 5 minutes to register here, 2 minutes to write this garbled piece of text and about a second for me to fall asleep on my keyboard.

My first attempt at speedpaintings; other than sketches. Its an interesting challenge; outputting form and shade with just 2 to 8 colours, withut drawing perspective grids and without any plan other than a blank canvas being filled. I'm going to do this again sometime i think.

I think it's next Wednesday. The challenges here in speed painting are a week and a half long. The date of the first post was the 4th, so i think we have until the 14th. It wasn't repeated/stated in this weeks rules, but I'm pretty sure that's the dealine.

Good entry. Now that you have more time than you thought, go make another entry. ha ha.

Hey everyone. I've been inspired by your entries this round. They're all great!

Here's my entry. I spent 15 min on the sketch, and about an hour and a half in Photoshop with it. I'd like to push it farther, but then its not really a speed painting, is it?

The deadline cant be yet as voting hasn't started, so untill it does just keep those entries coming!

SpinningPlates - Yes, Yes you win! Defo the biggest Troll so Far! - Like the eyes!

Babbo - Loving the Image, very Atmospheric, looks like a lovely bit of concept art or storyboard sketch, loving the trolls under the bridge!

Blaine_T - Really nice image, The Troll is great character really like the look and feel of this one - It almost seems as if it deserves a caption like a one of comic strip in the newspaper - if you know what i mean! - It just has that feel to it, which I like.

Yes, the DEADLINE is on Wednesday the 14th. So keep posting. Nice entries.

babbo - cool mood on the pic. A more realistic approach to the topic Nice

blaine_t - nice one funny

Track - thanks for comments Yeah, when you take an existing animal from our world it makes the creature more natural. In my picture it's still a bit stiff, pros handle those things a lot better, but I hope to learn it finally.
All pros do that - they base on real animals to achieve the natural feeling. Some pros even say that if you don't have a good reference, you need to change the subject of the work to the one, that you have a ref for.

ATTENTION - NO OFFTOPICS HERE, PLEASE, guys. If it doesn't follow the description, post it n a speedpainting thread that is in 2d section.
