I'm poor

Hey. I was so tempted to make an exterior scene. So i decided to make a poor apartment building. i have started the door. The map is from total textures v2 but i did lots of refining in photoshop to make it be a door texture. Tell me if you like the model, and if u like the green or brown one. Any suggestions, crits, etc. are needed. Thanks.

I like the brown door better, as it helps to exemplify the run down look of the building/room itself as ithink that the green door would be more of an outside entrance to the apartment block itself

hey, yes this is an exterior scene. so the door will be visible from the outside, not the inside. so i should use the green one?

thanks for commenting

Update. I fixed the door texture. The unwrapped version had some tiling which made it look fake. I think it looks better.

also, any suggestions about what should be around the door? should the building start, or should there be some stone border?

I like this concept the door is looking really good. The only thing that I see is the curtains and the glass. They need to be dirtier they dont go along with the door.

ok that looks perfect to me..for the stone i think if you add maybe som weathering and staining from the likes of the sun/rain/general street detritus would make the stone look more crumbly, the odd patch of moss in the darker edges would look good too

Hey man, thanks for commenting. I totally agree with you about the texturing. Update time. I changed the "stone frame", i wasn't happy with the previous one. still no "Broken" details to it though. (you think i should change the round pole?)

i think you should try one with a square pole also as it could help choose which one you licke better, tho i was impressed with the first stone outer too. well keep plugging at it and see how it goes

hey mac, thanks for posting. Update. I did some fracture tests, and decided to make the poles boxy. I think this fracture is way too broken down, but maybe the viewers have a different perspective. C&C pls.

Making sufficient progress! Lots of potential here, but nothing that hasn't been seen before. I hope that this image contains a twist to make it unique in concept.
