Hi, there's a small and easy to be fixed problem on your basic shape. I made the correction in orange on the attachment. This part should be separated from the chair as it's a pivot to make the chair fold like when you take it with you too the beach

First you go and find youself a better ref-picture and pay attention to the smallest details, then you make a search for uv-mapping +maya. Good luck

Yeah dahWan, it looks pretty nice....but I think you'll find that there is no center bar....you can see in your ref pic how the material of the chair actually hangs down and there is no bar proping it up like in your model (as well as having a bar there would be pretty uncomfy)

The part where you have a bar is probably just attached to the ends of the chair to allow it to rotate., rather then being one large bar running across the entire length of the chair.
