Bitey little robot

This is a little robot partly inspired by hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy. I wanted to make a bot that looks like it could bite through things. Still needs bits fixed. Not textured yet, and only partially rigged (no fingers yet). Partly poly-modelled, some primitives and shell modifier used. 3ds max7 and brazil.

Very cool idea and nice name for it too. What do you plan to do with it?

Well I have tried to keep the model as simple as possible to rig (i.e not much in the way of deforming in the mesh) so I can animate it. I hope to do a short animation with it sometime. Thanks for the replies folks

Very nice. My only comment would be to bend the fingers for future poses but that's pretty trivial. Also, will his eyes be animated?

Yeah I haven't rigged the fingers yet. That's next on the list I think. I haven't quite thought of what to do with the eyes. Seeing as it's not exactly realistic I though I could do some morphs to show different emotions as emotion can't really be conveyed through the mouth.

Maybe use glowing pixel style textures in the eyes, like a graphic equaliser kinda thing to get different expressions into em?? Just an idea, Nice work on him so far!!

I rigged his hands and did some simple little morphs for his eyes. Still can't work out exactly how to do the eyes properly. I dont really want them to be see though holes.

Very nice, love the expressive poses...reminds me of the depressed robot in HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy
