I am new
hi guys,
im new to the whole 3d concept but im duying to learn it. my dream is to do something like ice age. how should i start? should i use Maya or MAx? or is there any other software? where do i get tutorials from? Im good with Flash MX but i never dont any 3d stuff in my life thank u |

This has been asked so many times here lately, my opinion is download max demo, maya demo and cinema 4 d demo , and anyother demo versions you can get your hands on like softimage xsi, lightwave and then have a play around with them and do some simple tutorials ( which can be found all over the place try http://www.3dtotal.com/tutorials/ for a start.)
Find which software you loike the interface of then take it from there, when you take into account your budget etc you will have a better idea of what you are looking for and what you can realistically afford.

I am newbie too. I have downloaded Maya 7 Personal Learning Edition from Alias.com and now learning interface, modeling, lightning, rendering and stuff like that from its tutorials. that program has really good tutorials. but it takes a lot of time to learn it , more than a year i think, but if u r dying for that so u will find temper...

Another thing I want to tell you is that once you choose one progrem stick with it dont swith to another one because it is very hard. Believe me I have tried.
