I just found this post and I just have to say that I'm very impressed that you've decided to take on such a challenge. The 2D work is very very good and it seems like you guys have a great start on this. I've always wanted to be part of a project but I can see that for this one you guys probably need the best of the best.
I will be watching. |

Yes I heard he had joined you in this project and I know you must be happy about that because he has some great skills. I've seen his start on one of the characters and it looks great.

Good luck on the project, sounds very good to me so far. The great thing about it is that I can definately get a very clear picture with that overview that you gave. From the layout, seems as though it could either be a trailer for a movie, or the opening sequence of a game. I can't wait to see it all finished, it'll be worth the wait.

I'm not what I might call myself a great organics modeler, but if you ever need a props modeler, i'd love to join in... and if you ever need a storyboard artist...

Hy everyone!
Things are starting to go really smooth, and we found some extreme talented guys that joined this project! In about 2 + weeks i think we will bring the first update! For now i don't think we need any more modellers! We should start looking for some texture artists, and some matte painters! So if anyone interested, BRING IT ON ! ![]()

Im interested in the matte painting, if your still looking Avatar.
You may want to get a new concept artist as well, his work seems to be a bit under/average give me something to do, and well see if it comes out to what you want.

Turboracer originally this was design as a game cinematic. Still is, but we are considering something lenghter, like a short movie.
Ilkejav mk5 I've seen your model and if you had offer your help sooner you would have found for sure a place in the team. As it is now 'tho, the team its pretty complete - for now. We have all the modelers both for props and organics we need. Trying to find some good animators and texturers. But let me assure you, if any of our actual colaborators will decide to back down, you are on our list. Holo-3DT, yes we are in need of a concept artist and a matte painter. The storyboard still needs to be done, we need help with the textures and with the backgrounds for the movie. But I must confess I am not familiar with your work in the matte painting field so a link to some matte painting you have can help us decide. goat-3DT, glad you like it and many thanks for your wishes. Work goes very well for now. We are still in preproduction and very soon we wil post our models in here. So we may - at least for now - keep up with our work table.

This is a good concept Avatar, and funny that this is my religion, (I believe in Asgard etc)
So there´s one thing I must say: The people that go to Helja´s realm are vikings who died of old age, so, it kinda bothered me to see a beheaded "zombie" (ergo he didn´t quite die of old age)... and Naglfar is made of fingernails and toenails (an Idea for the texture). You say you need a concept artist, if yer interested, I can throw something together to show you. |

Glottis I intended no offense for nobody here. But I'm a mythology fan myself and nors mythology is one of my favourites. As I knew, Helja didn't received in her Helheim only vikings who died of old age, but also had some special places for the mad, traitors and cowards, murderers and rapists. Valhala received only the heroes, the ones who died in battle. So, what I've did, I only did following the mythology. In the end it is Helja herself, daughter of Loki and sister of Jormungard and Fenrir who brought the legions of Hel on the shores of Asaheim. Yes, I know about Niflheim also and if you would have read the script (thats on the first page of this thread) you would have see I have mentioned the nails (and if I may remember you those were the nails of those dead without a burying ritual) and, if I remember well, infact Naglfar was given to her by her uncle, the unleashed fire demon, Surr. So I hope I convinced you the nors mythology is in good hands and I'm not distorting anything. Infact I'm one who treasures mythology and tries to keep it as accurate as possible.
Yes, I am interested, the search for concept artists its still on aldo we almost finished all the concepts for the movie and were searching rather matte painters. Feel free eather to PM me with the link to your site (if you have one) or post some link to your work or your most used thread.

Hey Avatar,
I havent done any matte painting per/say. But I am preety good with oil on canvas, dont have any pics of my paintings unfortunately, but what i can do is turn one of your sketches into a photorealistic image. If you could post a sketch of a landscape youve done, id be able to have something for you in a day or 2. The way i work is, i would model the landscape in Vue first (roughly) then move to photoshop and touch it up accordingly. -I use a Wacom Tablet to do this.
