Hey I love Hanuman. Since my childhood I always loved Hanuman. He was my favorite hero.
As far as the model goes I love it. The modelling is great. But I noticed some triangles in the mesh. You may have fixed them until now. I'm waiting eagerly for the textured model. The only thing I personaly felt wrong was the face design. Some how it looks wierd to me. Maybe it will look good after the facial hair is added. I just want you to have a look at this model - http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread...hlight=hanuman You could have some ideas from there. Its really a great model. Though many images dont show up now. Greetz, Shikav4

hi.
its very nice work and it shows u are no doubt a very talented mind. I liked the muscles and thoer flow and especially the cloth has a real feel of cloth. its really awesome. but two major issues in ur model made my mind stuck.. and disabled me to think on other things. i know it is stylized thats why i dont point out his tooo thin waist. but the head(skull) should be bigger and the nostrills are too thin. I am sure Hanuman jee would mind this that u changed his face.hehehe. the nostrills are of human while in the original concept he is having the naustrils more like a monkey. Kindly have a look at it. anyway it is a goood work going on. keep it up. and is there any difference in the texture of body and the tail?? or its just the lighting? |

hi raja3D...thanks for u words.....omm....for the nostrils...i tried to follow as much as i can with the original concept....i'll have a look at it...and thanks for pointing me out that!!!.....i still haven't done any texturing yet......it's only a Blin material with maya's software rendering....so it's basically the lighting...

i just dugged up this thread again just to update this longgggg going project of 3 years (though a personal one!!!) so that i can pull this to a final piece some day!!!...this time, i revert back the mesh to some kind of base level, so that i can experiment seriously with Zbrush and displacment map....and after some effort i've reached to this point...!!!
...C & C are very much welcome...!!!! rendered in maya with a base mesh and displacment map sculpted within Zbrush...cheers...!!! no works on the tail yet...!!! ![]() ![]() close-up of the feet, zbrush sculpting snapshot...!!! ![]() these are the zbrush sculpting snapshots with around 400,000+ polymesh...i wud go one more subdivision level for the superficial detailing likes the veins, wrinkles and the skin pores if my system dony cry!!!.... ![]() ![]() |

Some very nice modeling skills there.I can't say that I like how some parts of the model look, though. Most of the muscles are over exaggerated (chest, arms, neck, back) and look as if they were cut of the wood.Unfortunately I can't help you with that 'cause it's something you really need to learn yourself (making them look realistic that is). Oh and you should definitely fix the arms from the back.I know how hard it is to model them ,but right now it looks like as if the bones were "coming out" of the arms and all the mass of biceps and other muscles is simply hanging there. I hope you understand what I'm talking about
![]() Keep it up!

Nice work on the cloth there.Wrapping his tale with it was a nice touch
![]() Some more crits.I'd work on the upper part of the legs a little more.Right now those muscles look too symmetrical which is wrong.Check out some images of Arnold on the net,he has some really masculine legs.I do like how they look from the side, though. Next thing I'd do is smoothing the biceps and shoulders a little.Just give them a couple of strokes with the Smooth brush and leave it.This should help get rid of the bumpiness on those areas and give them a more realistic and organic look. But it's just a suggestion ![]() The arms still look too bulky to me,especially the forearms.Maybe you could do something about it? Like making them a little more "slim" ? Also I've noticed you aren't using any perspective. Are you still working in orthographic view or did you just switch off the perspective for the renders?

hey Raja3D...thnx for ur words...i'm trying my best to push this till texturing...so keep an eye!!!
hey Aleks...thnx again for ur valuable critiques!!!.. add some simple Accessories around his ankles and wrists... tried to break that symmetry on those leg muscles...about the forearms...yah, they r quite bulky!!...i think i did something wrong on lower levels...and it's getting hard to make them slim now...so i've left them as it is for the time being... about the perspectives...these are all Zbrush snapshots, i still haven't exported the mesh from zbrush to maya for render...too many subtools to do that...so these are indeed ortho views...but its about time to render from maya!!! by the way, is there any option to render or view in perspective within Zbrush itself (?), as per my knowledge, that was not available in the earlier versions... and i also did a quick rough paintover for the hairs and the necklace which is yet to model... C & C Please!!! ![]() paintover... ![]() cheers!!! |
