Game Head

Hello all, here is my latest game artwork, the proportions are almost correct i believe according to the sketches i had they are right on.

The poly flow is pretty nice and i have nice loops for all of the features, i dont have any super hard edges, and im at 534 polys / faces and 966 tris, not to bad for a complete game head with detail. Tell me what you think thanks.

well, i will be somewhat critic as im studying head construction too :

- the head itself doesnt seem human, wich i mean it doesnt look like a skull in terms of shape.
- the loops have some good placement, but the ones you have well placed ( around mouth and eyes ) are "unused" you seem u just made the polys like that because u saw it somewhere , there is a reason why they are ussually like that, to give shape and muscle flow.
- the ears have some really unecessary polys, you could use 1/4 of them and achieveing a better result
- the loops around the mouth connect to to the nose area.

i have attached an image regarding what i mean.

dont give up !! heads are very hard to master , and very tricky ones, they are in a load of different format and shapes, but they all follow the same principle

The general shape of the head looks rather inorganic to me, and the ear's smoothing looks odd with that vertex in the middle.

There is an odd concentration of pollies in the centre of the head, for the nose it is fine, but for the forehead and skull you don't need it.

Generally, the neck looks like it goes forward, the nose has a kind of 'point' to it, the ear isn't much like an ear, the eyes reveal a hole (look closely), and the forhead is kind of jagged.

And just a random note, it doesn't sound good when you compliment your model. Simply the statistics will do, not what you think of the polygon flow you have.

So if I quoted what he said, you'd trust it? >>;

He's right on everything he said~

And since apparently you'll believe it if someone else says it, here~

Shanda
, I wouldn't argue with his fixes. What he says could really help you out. Seeing his models, Snipe knows what hes saying.

Johnny...nice fixes .
