King Kong
Just saw King Kong, was wondering what everyone thought of it?
-I can honestly say I had'nt gotten caught up in a movie like that since I was around 8 years old. Very fun movie. -I've heard allot of complaints about Jack Black, but I thought he was good, he fit pretty well with all the other extreme characters in the movie -That scene with the bugs was insane, I'm going to be itching for the next month. -the fact that Kong did'nt make a dent/splat in the concrete when he fell kinda freaked me out but no big deal.

I really liked it, you could see true emotion in Kong. Some scenes were so fun that I had a bg grin during the movie, and others were really sad and touching. It took real talent to elicit these emotions from the viewers and I would recommend it to anyone.

the film may not be the best movie ever, but it,s probably the best film to demonstrate how much effort you can put in a single movie. PJ is a genius. I think this film is an instant classic. PJ just demonstrated that you can put loads of material in a movie that's just fun, maybe meaningless, but just fun... and he backed it with a deep array of emotions that really reached through to everyone even to the most sceptical viewers. Weta also demonstrated that it was still the leader in CG delivering a main character that is 100% believable througout the movie.

That was one good movie. The bug part got me too. I do have one big thing that blew it for me because I could not get it out of my mind and it kinda tore me out of the moment for the end of the movie. THIS IS WINTER WITH FROZEN PONDS. How the hell was she in a skimpy outfit and not showing some major headlights and freezing to death. How could she climb a ladder bair skinned like that in freazing weather. Tow months ago I did climb the Empire state building with a jacket and it was not snowing. The wind was stong and my face was hurting because of the cold.

SPOILER WARNING
I just saw this movie at the cinema. First of all, hats off to Weta for setting the standard for the next few years. Peter Jackson is simply... superb. I mean, he directed four movies, and they're each in my top10. I swear, whatever he makes, ... don't expect anything less that gorgeous. He's the opposite of Uwe Boll, you could say. King Kong ( Tore Kong ) is a hectic mix of character development ( for the first 60 minutes ) and two hours of dramatic action and heart wrenching scenes. Now, I rarely cry at movies, ( LotR really got to me, Sweet November at the end, Vanilla Sky at the end, What Dreams May Come... and that's it, as I recall ), but this had me literally weeping several times. My girlfriend was holding me so tight, crying aswell, so it wasn't a big deal ( the whole cinema audience was pretty much doing it too... so it's cool really ).Moving on, certain scenes left my jaw dropped. Now this never happened to me, not even at LotR. After the first time the dinousaurs appeared and the whole stampede, I noticed my mouth hanging open. The battles with the t-rexes had a similar effect. But the bug scene, it simply shocked me to a level I didn't believe possible. Also the scene where they meet the "locals" and the whole head-bashing scene, same shocking feel. I had no ideea a movie can transfer such emotions into me. It all ended quite sudden. And I hoped Kong would fall over Carl. Damnit.

I agree completely Freespace, sad that it's not doing as well as they thought it would.
I saw The Chronicles of Narnia, I was'nt really that impressed, it was a decent movie, but not any where near Kong. I had forgot to mention that stampede, I was thinking the whole time while watching that, how the hell did they even begin to plan all of that squence out, that was amazing.

This was one of the first remakes that they did better than the first. The emotion in Kong was amazing. I did love the movie. I just hope though that Peter Jackson does not go the way of Spielberge and overdo the "Close Call" scenes. The CG and Weta did an awsome job.
PS, anyone notice by my typing. besides not being able to spell, that my "S" sticks.

Very good Flick.
I havent been so touched since....god, i cant even remember. The Movie made me feel like a kid again, one of the most entertaining, and fun movies EVER. I dont remember the last time i had to hold myself in my seat during a movie, especially during the last Killer blow during the "Big Fight" (those who have seen it know what im talking about )and im soo happy they made Kong act like an actual Ape, I had a bad feeling they would have killed it by making him a more intelligent, human like character, but that was'nt the case at all. Incredibly well done.

I have to go see it again... the end of the movie was ruined by the fact that I really REALLY had to go pee, but I didn't want to leave my seat... it ruined the end for me...
