Recreating Headlights

Hi guys,

maybe someone can be of help to me...I'm just experimenting a little with the making of headlights...

Does anyone know how I can make the headlights actually casting light? I have a body for the headlights which is of a chrome material, and a frame made out of glass what is placed before the body...

For now I tried to recreate the bulblight with the light type omni...

But when I do this the light itself is not to be seen...does anyone know how to make it like there's actually a very bright point of light in the headlight, shinging outwards...?

I'll ad a pic later...

Please help

map the inside of the cylinder (where your light is) with a illumination set to white

also, to make it look a lot more like the type of light you are looking for:

use volumetric lights. they basically put photons in the light. to do this, goto environment, then select add effect. pick volume light, and then select the light smp range you find most appropriate. the higher the light smp range, the denser the volume of the light, and the longer the render.

hope this helps.
