.Character Modelling.

hi,
im going to model my first character so i was wondering wat is the best way to model it, and if u guys know any really good tutorials?
im using 3ds max 8.

After a couple of tut's then i want to model my own.
please help.

Well, on the tutorial section of 3D Total, you've got "Joan of Arc"... I think it's the best max modelling tut out here...
