[3dsmax8] More than 6x5 texture slots?

Hey all,

just a quick question...testing out max 8 and building a scene with it, yet the way to get more than the 30 textures that fit in the material browser's 6x5 option yet evades me...of course I could put some multi textures in some slots, but somehow I find that too unuser friendly to be the only option...surely there is a way to expand the number of slots with some very obvious button that I have missed?

Yours,

me

you can delete textures from the material editor with the x button but make sure you choose the option to leave them in the scene and just delete them from the editor slot. to get the material back in the editor if you need to edit it again just use the eye dropper tool on the object you need the material from.
