In the mental ray render the map isn't applied correctly I think because of the enviorment wrapping. Curiously the scanlines look pretty good how did you do it?

well the scanline renders are looking nice, only the first one is a bit bright.
but i think you left the environment mapping of the hdri at screen. change it to spherical environment at the material editor

Lower the intensity and take proportions into consideration

The brick size in comparison to the teapot looks a bit off in proportions to me

Is the scene lit purely by HDRI or are you using another light? You can actually get decent lighting just by lighting with HDRI, just disable all default lights in the render settings. In VRay, where you put the HDRI map in the environment slots, always make sure the default is overidden, and I always put one colour at white, and the other at black. It seems to make a difference.
And if you haven't done already, it's normal practice to use instances of the HDRI map into the material editor so you can mess around with the settings, but that's pretty well known.
